The Evening Sun | Chenango County, NY's Hometown Newspaper: "NORWICH – Anna Lois “Annie” Gifford, 74, Sarasota, Fla. formerly of Norwich, born June 15, 1933 and died Aug. 22, 2007. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Barton Parks Sr.; daughters Catherine Hunter of Parrish, Marzy Baker and Tammy Gilleo of Sarasota, Kristina Behnke of Sidney, and Judy VanWhy of Bradenton; sons Harry VanWhy of Gravel Switch, Ky., David VanWhy of St. Petersburg, Barton Jr. and Michael of Bradenton; 28 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous foster children; sister, Mary Rossi, Endwell, and sister-in-law, Peggy Cannavino, Spartenburg, S.C. Annie worked as a bookkeeper for 38 years. She devoted her life to God, her family and friends. Her sense of humor and her kind, gentle and caring ways were just a few of her many wonderful qualities. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Great comfort comes from the knowledge that she no longer suffers from cancer or any of its side effects. Annie is with Jesus, two great-grandchildren and parents.
