Andrew E. ‘Eddie’ Garbos
Andrew E. “Eddie” Garbos, age 90, of Paradise Point Road, Mayfield, N.Y., passed away Monday, October 8, 2007 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital. He was born February 7, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y. and received his education in Brooklyn schools. Eddie was a salesman for Swift and Company, selling industrial soaps to various corporations. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Gloversville and the St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes, N.J. He was a member of the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge and was a Little League coach there for 20 years. Eddie was an avid Mets baseball fan and loved working in his vegetable garden. He had been a resident of Mayfield the past 35 years.
